Kottakkayal is a lake situated near Kannanallur in Kollam district, in the Indian state of Kerala. It is connected to Paravur Lake via the Ithikkara River. Similar to Ashtamudi Lake, Kottakkayal features a shape characterized by multiple mudis (branches or extensions).The Kollam-Ayoor road passes through the narrowest part of Kottakkayal Lake.
