Çığır, İdil
Çığır (Kurdish: Serkanî, Syriac: Serkani) is a village in the İdil District of Şırnak Province in Turkey. The village is populated by Kurds of the Botikan tribe and had a population of 1,878 in 2021.
The hamlet of Gültepe is attached to Çığır.
History
Serkani (today called Çığır) was historically inhabited by Syriac Orthodox Assyrians. It was inhabited by 200 Assyrians in 1914, according to the Assyro-Chaldean delegation to the Paris Peace Conference.
