Ali Jimale Mosque

Ali Jimale Mosque (Arabic: مسجد علي جمعالي; Somali: Masjidka Cali Jimcaale) is a mosque located in Mogadishu, Somalia.

History

This Ali Jimale mosque, a large modern mosque, was built in Mogadishu, and it can pray for up to 5,000 people. The Ali Jimale mosque was built near Mogadishu airport by businessman Ahmed-Nur Ali Jimale, and it cost $12 million. The land it sits on was provided by the government of Somalia.

Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud performed the Eid Al Adha prayer alongside Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre, MPs, government officials and hundreds of people at the newly constructed Ali Jimale Mosque in Mogadishu, whose design was modeled on the mosques of Turkey.
