Aseri, Estonia

Aseri is a small borough (Estonian: alevik) in Viru-Nigula Parish, Lääne-Viru County, in northeastern Estonia. As of the 2011 census, the settlement's population was 1,439, of which the Estonians were 506 (35.2%).

During the German occupation of Estonia (World War II), the occupiers operated a subcamp of the Vaivara concentration camp, in which Frenchmen, Spaniards, Dutchmen and Jews were subjected to forced labour.
