Bačkov (Havlíčkův Brod District)
Bačkov (Czech pronunciation: [ˈbatʃkof]) is a municipality and village in Havlíčkův Brod District in the Vysočina Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 100 inhabitants.
Geography
Bačkov is located about 16 kilometres (10 mi) north of Havlíčkův Brod and 37 km (23 mi) north of Jihlava. It lies in an agricultural landscape in the Upper Sázava Hills. The highest point is at 537 m (1,762 ft) above sea level. There are several small fishponds in the municipal territory.
History
The first written mention of Bačkov is from 1307, when the village was acquired by the Benedictine monastery in Vilémov.

Transport
There are no railways or major roads passing through the municipality.
Sights
There are no protected cultural monuments in the municipality. In the centre of Bačkov is a chapel.
