Barvanan-e Sharqi Rural District (Persian: دهستان بروانان شرقي) is in Torkamanchay District of Mianeh County, East Azerbaijan province, Iran. Its capital is the village of Sowmaeh-ye Olya.

Population

At the time of the 2006 National Census, the rural district's population was 8,304 in 2,003 households. There were 7,400 inhabitants in 2,134 households at the following census of 2011. The 2016 census measured the population of the rural district as 6,356 in 2,148 households. The most populous of its 16 villages was Sowmaeh-ye Olya, with 2,432 people.
