Bunya Creek, Queensland

Bunya Creek is a rural locality in the Fraser Coast Region, Queensland, Australia. In the 2021 census, Bunya Creek had a population of 75 people.

History

Bunya Creek Provisional School opened circa 1881. On 1 January 1909 it became Bunya Creek State School. It closed in 1928 due to low student numbers.

Urangan Road State School opened on 22 February 1915 on the Urangan Road. In 1956, the school was renamed Bingham Road State School. It closed on 1960. The school was 847 Booral Road (previously known as Urangan Road and Nikenbah Bingham Road) in Bunya Creek (25°20′43″S 152°51′02″E / 25.3453°S 152.8505°E / -25.3453; 152.8505 (Bingham Road State School (former))).

On Sunday 4 February 1917, Christ Church was officially opened by the Anglican Archdeacon of Toowoomba on Urangan Road, adjacent to the Urangan Road School. In 1965, it was renamed All Saints Anglican Church. It closed in 1986. It was located at 835 Booral Road (approx 25°20′41″S 152°51′05″E / 25.3448°S 152.8514°E / -25.3448; 152.8514 (Christ Church Anglican (former))).

In the 2021 census, Bunya Creek had a population of 75 people.
