Central District (Kahnuj County)

The Central District of Kahnuj County (Persian: بخش مرکزی شهرستان کهنوج) is in Kerman province, Iran. Its capital is the city of Kahnuj.

At the National Census in 2006, its population was 70,664 in 15,029 households. The following census in 2011 counted 75,064 people in 18,413 households, by which time Howmeh Rural District had been separated from the district in the establishment of Chah Morid District. Deh Kahan Rural District was transferred to the Central District from Manujan County. At the latest census in 2016, the district had 84,603 inhabitants in 23,207 households.

After the 2016 census, the villages of Chah Morid and Deh Kahan were elevated to city status.
