Changaramkulam

Changaramkulam (Malayalam: ചങ്ങരംകുളം) (IAST: Caṅṅaraṅkuḷaṁ) is a town in Ponnani Taluk of the Malappuram district in the Indian state of Kerala. It falls on the Nannamukku and Alamcode panchayats. Changaramkulam in part of the Ponnani Lok Sabha constituency.

Economy

Changaramkulam has one of the most prominent public markets. It is known for its weekly cattle, areca nut and various food markets, which draw traders and buyers from surrounding areas. Changaramkulam is situated in the south side of the Malappuram district, 5km to both Thrissur and Palakkad districts. The Kerala State Highway 69 (Thrissur Kuttipuram Road) passes through Changaramkulam.

Changaramkulam connects to other parts of India through National Highway 66 at Kuttippuram, while the northern stretch connects to Goa and Mumbai. The southern stretch connects to Cochin and Trivandrum. National Highway 966 connects to Palakkad and Coimbatore. The nearest airports are Kozhikode and Cochin International Airport. The nearest major railway stations are Kuttippuram and Guruvayoor.
