Cherry Valley Township is located in Winnebago County, Illinois. As of the 2010 census, its population was 19,831 and it contained 8,415 housing units.

According to the 2010 census, the township has a total area of 30.72 square miles (79.6 km), of which 30.35 square miles (78.6 km) (or 98.80%) is land and 0.37 square miles (0.96 km) (or 1.20%) is water.
