The College of Applied Science, Dhanuvachapuram under Institute of Human Resources Development, affiliated to the University of Kerala is established in 2008. The college is situated in Dhanuvachapuram, near Neyyattinkara in Thiruvananthapuram district.

In June 2007, a Skill Development Centre was established initially under IHRD in NKM Government Higher Secondary School campus, Dhanuvachapuram. Consequently the government have sanctioned a College of Applied Science under IHRD at Parassala and it was established along with the Skill Development Centre in the year 2008 with three UG programmes namely B.Sc Computer Science, B.Sc Electronics and B.Com with Computer Application with annual intake of 50 each under the affiliation of University of Kerala. In 2012, two PG programmes, M.Sc Computer Science and M.Sc Electronics were started with the intake of 30 each.

It Offers courses in Electronics, Computer science and Commerce. The number of students intake per year in the respective courses is given in brackets.
