Kathra Sundareswarar Temple is a Shiva temple situated at Kanjanagaram in Mayiladuthurai district (previously Nagapattinam district) of Tamil Nadu state in India. Shiva is the main deity and goddess is Thungabalasthanambigai in this temple. Kanjanagaram is the birth place of Manakanchara Nayanar.

This temple is located with the coordinates of (11°06′57″N 79°42′26″E / 11.115856°N 79.707249°E) in Mayiladuthurai district.
Mythical importance
Veda Vyasa and his son Shuka Brahmarishi are believed to have worshipped the goddess of this temple.
Significance
This temple place is believed in being the birth place of Lord Kartikeya.
Maintenance
This temple is maintained under the control of Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
Sub deities
Durga, Chandikeswarar, Brahma, Metha Dakshinamurti, Nardhana Vinayaka , Selva Vinayaka, Subramania, Nandi and Navagraha are the sub deities in this temple.
