Interior of the Moorish-style Central Sofia Synagogue, one of two synagogues in Bulgaria (the other is in Plovdiv). The brass chandelier weighs over 1,700kg/3,750lb. The Sephardic (Spanish-Jewish) synagogue was completed in 1909 CE and is the third-largest one in Europe. The main prayer room has seats for 1,170 worshippers (although the local Jewish community today is much smaller than that).
