Das Wappen der Gemeinde Großsteinbach – In einem blauen Schild mit silbernem gezinnten und gequaderten Schildfuß eine von Silber und Rot geschachte schwebende Glockenblume – wurde am 18. September 1966 von der Steiermärkischen Landesregierung verliehen. Das Wappen symbolisiert das Vergangene und das Ewige.
Die Zinnenmauer nimmt Bezug auf einen Bericht im Herbersteiner Hand-Urbar (Grundbuch) von 1605, der besagt, daß im Gemeindegebiet einst ein Schlößl gestanden haben soll:
"Ein abgeördetes Hölzl liegt im Steinbach, genannte Hausgraben, herinnerhalb der Kirchn, da etwan ein Schlößl gestanden."
Das Ewige wird durch die Schachblume dargestellt, eine seltene eiszeitliche Glockenblume, die streng geschützt ist und in der Steiermark nur im Gebiet von Großsteinbach vorkommt.This simple coat of arms image could be re-created using vector graphics as an SVG file.
