The description of the full-size image: Rovers stars of the 1950's gather at Twerton Park on August 13th 1988 for Jackie Pitt's testimonial match, Bristol Rovers taking on FA cup holders Wimbledon. Rovers legend Jackie was one of the finest wing halves to wear the blue and white quarters. He played for Rovers between 1946 and 1958 and after retiring from playing became the club's groundsman for many years at both Eastville and Twerton Park. He sadly died in August 2004. This photo was taken before the game, with all time Rovers top goalscorer Geoff Bradford getting his hands on the FA cup. You can also see Doug Hillard and Alfie Biggs amongst others.
The game itself ended in a 1-1 draw with both goals coming in the first half, Peter Cawley scored for Wimbledon, Devon White equalised for Rovers.
