Description |
Ardmore Cathedral, Ardmore, County Waterford, Ireland English: Ogham stone CIIC 263. Ardmore I, Co. Waterford in a wall-niche in the north wall of the choir. The stone was originally located in the east wall of St Declan’s Oratory from which it was removed c. 1855 (see record of the Archaeological Survey of Ireland). The transcription according to Macalister: “LUGUDECCAS MAQỊ/[ ̣ ̣ ? ̣ ̣MU]/COI NETA-SEGAMONAS/ DOLATI BIGAISGOB...” Which has been translated to 'of Luguid son of ...? descendant of Nad-Segamon'. |
