- This cabin, which Nashville artist Mayna Avent used as a studio in the 1920's and 1930's, was built around 1850 by the Ownby family.
- It is located just off the Jakes Creek Trail, a mile or so above Elkmont.
- The cabin is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
