King Prasat Thong had brought the Khmer architecture style to build a pagoda in this temple. The principle pagoda standing 35 metres tall represents Mount Meru. On the cloisters sit120 Buddha images (in subduing mara position) symbolizing the holy walls. The main pagoda is surrounded by 4 smaller ones, each located at a particular direction and connected by a cloister in a square shape.
In the end of Ayutthaya era, this monastery was used employed as a military compound, and was abandoned afterwards. Until 1987, the Department of Fine Arts was responsible for the renovation, and completed the work in 1992. The temple is recognized as an attraction in Ayutthaya province that still preserves its aesthetics and charm of an ancient city.
