File:Bangkok Yaowarat1.jpg

Initially, this road was home to Chinese immigrants. King Rama V designated the area for a trade hub of commodities imported from China along with nightclubs, and gold shops. The first tallest building ever constructed is also in this area.

Yaowarat road was nicknamed the “Dragon Road” where the Royal Jubilee Gate nearby the Odean Circle is the head, the area of old Yaowarat market is the centre, and the very end of the road is the tip of the tail. At present, this area is one of the busiest locations. This area was also labelled the “Chinatown of Thailand”.
