Original description:
Looking South-East from Telecom Tower, London taken 1966
At the time this photograph was taken we were in what was called the GPO Tower, now called the Telecom Tower, and it was possible for members of the public to go up to the viewing level. How different the skyline was with Centre Point on the right the tallest building. We can also see the British Museum with the green roof on the left, plus along the Thames what is now the Tate Modern is a working power station with smoke coming out of the chimney. We can see St Paul's with scaffolding round the dome and Tower Bridge and the old London Bridge, which is now in Arizona, to the right of St Paul's.(Reusing this file)
