File:Boule De Genève, Ca. 1890.jpeg
"Boule de Genève" (Geneva ball) in the Etruscan revival style with granulation and wirework decoration, unsigned, Switzerland, ca. 1890, 21.5k yellow gold, watch diameter 22mm. Watch Museum of Le Locle (Switzerland). These pendant watches, mainly intended for ladies, frequently came with a matching brooch, chain or chatelaine. It is rare to find a ball-charm matching the ball-watch.
Winding by rotating the hemisphere containing the dial and setting by depressing the cylindrical-shaped button while rotating the said hemisphere. Winding system by Marius Lecoultre of Geneva, Swiss patent 114, 12 January 1889.
