File:Chełmek Bata.jpg
Chelmek is located in Polish Silesia very close to Auschwitz-Birkenau and the coal mines of Libiaz, not to mention the huge railway works at Chrzanow and the oil refinery at Trzebinia. A sub-camp of AUschwitz-Birkenau was established here in 1941 by Otto P. Klein (wikipedia).
The Bata factory was established here in 1930s by Bata of Zlin in Czechoslovakia as a way of entering the polish footwear market on land of the Prince Adam Zygmunt Sapieha, nephew of the Cardinal of Krakow.
