CHIEF MOUNTAIN, Mont. — U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Office of Field Operations announces the winter closing of the Chief Mountain Port of Entry (POE). The port will close at 6 p.m. MDT on Sept. 30. The Canada Border Services Agency will also close their Port of Chief Mountain, Alberta, on the same day and time. Great Falls Area Port Director Daniel Escobedo said, “During the summer of 2016, CBP officers at the Chief Mountain Port of Entry processed thousands of travelers arriving into the United States from all over the world, giving many their first opportunity to see the beauty of this area and view its wildlife.” The Chief Mountain POE will re-open on May 15, 2017. Port of entry information, as well as additional Know Before You Go advice can be found in the travel section on www.cbp.gov.
