Of a family of 7 children, all but 2 work stringing tags. The oldest child is 12. The nurse of the school which these children attend, reports that they are continually being sent home because of their dirty condition. A little fellow who looked about 6 was quite an expert.
The children received 20 cents (US$ 0.20) for stringing a thousand tags.Lewis Hine
