The trial ended with a not guilty verdict and a courtroom spectacle. The attorney approached the judge and demanded an immediate release of the accused. The judge disagreed (the defendants were to be held because of another pending trial in their home state). The attorney refused to back down, and was tackled and tased, and hauled down the street to the police station.
"That attorney was charged, and he got one of these"--Brugger shows me a photocopied citation--"but I didn't get one. They couldn't hold me. They had to let me go. Know why?" I didn't. "Because I gave up my state citizenship! The attorney was a citizen of the state, so they owned him. But I'm owned by a higher power."Camera location | View this and other nearby images on: OpenStreetMap |
