This was the first march in the historic and momentous campaign to establish Civil Rights in the north of Ireland.
Marchers were forcefully prevented by the RUC from entering Dungannon Square
This stone, erected on the fortieth anniversary, pays tribute to the courage and strength of those who carried forward the coming Civil Rights campaign - the marchers and stewards who stood against State and RUC threat and intimidation in August 1969 and the following years of struggle.
