Compstall is a village in near Marple in Greater Manchester.Compstall Mills were built in the 1820s by George Andrew I & II, who then extended the village to house their workers. It is now a conservation area.
Where deals between farmers were sealed by spitting on the hand and striking this glacial erratic.
