Gustaf Rydén (1889-1981)
Gustaf Rydén was a legendary Swedish photographer at Dagens Nyheter. Rydén emigrated to the United States in 1912, where he worked as a portrait photographer. During the first World War he was sent as a war photographer to Europe. In 1922 Rydén returned to Sweden, where he was employed at Dagens Nyheter until 1951. In 1935 he wrote the book "War and kings: A diary of a reporter photographer" ("Krig och kungar: En reporterfotografs dagbok"). (Source: NE, Nationalencyklopedin). The photographer Gustaf Rydén was called "Mr Rajden" from the time as American's front photographer.
