Guildhall, Derry, County Londonderry, Northern Ireland English: Right upper light of the first window (counting from left to right) of the north-west windows of the Main Hall, depicting the coat of arms of the Worshipful Company of Salters: Blazon per The Book of Public Arms: Per chevron azure and gules, three covered salts argent, garnished or. Crest—On a wreath of the colours, a cubit arm erect, issuing from clouds all proper, holding a covered salt argent, garnished or. Supporters—Two otters sable, bezanty, ducally gorged and chained or. Motto—“Sal sapit omnia.” The window was manufactured by Campbell Brothers in Belfast, destroyed in 1972 by an IRA bomb, and restored by Calderwood Glass, Newtownabbey. |
