It's not easy finding good photo ops in a southern woods in late winter ... no snow or ice, the trees leafless, dead brown leaves on the ground, too early yet for all but a few lonely wildflowers. But here the soft sunlight lit up the reds and oranges in the fallen leaves and brightened the greens in the cedar trees.
The overlook building was built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930's, as the nation was recovering from the Great Depression.(Reusing this file)
