Die Domglocken hängen auf zwei Ebenen: Auf der unteren Ebene des Glockenstuhls, auf ca. 34 m Höhe, hängen die tontiefsten Glocken; auf der darüber liegenden Ebene hängen die restlichen Glocken. Die historisch bedeutsame und älteste Ludgerus-Glocke hängt im mittleren Joch, das bewusst Raum lässt für eine Ergänzung des Gesamtgeläutes.
