...Le porche sud de la cathédrale
du Puy-en-Vélay, bâti vers 1150, présente un exemple très-étrange
de l'emploi des étrésillons fixes dans la maçonnerie. Ce porche
s'ouvre par une grande archivolte possédant un arc isolé concentrique (2),
absolument inutile, pure décoration qui est maintenue au moyen de trois
petits pilastres isolés, destinés à empêcher son relèvement ou sa déviation...
