Le 5 février 1716, une débâcle de la Loire emporte d'un seul coup treize arches du pont médiéval de Blois, ne laissant que les sept arches du côté de Vienne, la tour-porte du pont formant une sentinelle au-dessus de l'amas des ruines. Exécuté en remerciement à Notre-Dame des Aydes pour avoir épargné Vienne lors de la catastrophe, ce tableau, copie de l'original aujourd'hui conservé à Mareuil sur Cher, représente le curé Joseph du Tail, entouré de ses vicaires et de ses paroissiens, implorant Notre-Dame des Aydes devant la silhouette du faubourg et de l'église, bien reconnaissable.
