The very handsome Austrian pavilion, luxuri-ously furnished, presents, in addition to the furniture, paintings, andsculpture,—the property of the Crown,—a large number of works of artsupplementing the national exhibit in the Grand Palais, but much inferiorin value. The great Italian building, a variation hrillante of Saint Marc,with its domes, its gildings, its carvings, its elaborate paintings on theexterior walls, can be admired from two levels,—the lower one, on whichit is built, and the upper one of the double foot-bridge which spans theBoulevard de la Tour Maubourg; the intelligent visitor generally sighs, as THE SWISS VILLAGE CHAMP DE MARS PHOTOGRAVURE
