Photo of high ranking officers visiting Fjell festning (MKB 11/504, Fjell Fortress on the island of Sotra, Norway) during the Second World War, probably some time in 1943, after the main armament (28,3 cm triple gun turrent from the German battleship Gneisenau) were finished.
The officer in the front is Makoto Onodera (1897 – 1987), Japanese military attaché to Sweden. Behind him is Lieutenant Colonel Eberhard Freiherr von Zedlitz und Neukirch, commander-in-chief of the Luftwaffe Feldregiment 502, and to the right is Fregattenkapitän doktor Robert Morath (1884 – 1956, Seekommandant in Bergen, Norway). Behind Onodera's hand (raised in salute) is General Nikolaus von Falkenhorst (1885 – 1968), Commander-in-Chief of the German military forces in Norway.
