Sydney, Australia (July 4, 2005) - Engineman 1st Class Kevin Kesler, pats kangaroos living at the Featherdale Zoo while on a USS Kitty Hawk (CV 63) Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) tour. The conventionally-powered Kitty Hawk, embarked Carrier Air Wing Five (CVW-5) and the guided missile cruiser USS Cowpens (CG 63) arrived for a five-day port in Australia, while conducting its summer cruise in the 7th Fleet area of responsibility (AOR). Kitty Hawk demonstrates power projection and sea control as the U.S. Navy's only permanently forward-deployed aircraft carrier, operating from Yokosuka, Japan.
