English: George Miles Chilcott ( January 2, 1828 – March 6, 1891) was a Delegate from the Territory of Colorado and a Senator from Colorado. He was born near Cassville on January 2, 1828. In 1844, moved with his parents to Jefferson County. There he studied medicine until 1850. He became sheriff of Jefferson County in 1853 and then moved to the Territory of Nebraska in 1856. He was elected a member of the Territorial House of Representatives in 1856 but left after he moved to the Territory of Colorado in 1859. Two years later he joined the Territorial council, serving for one year. While a resident in the Territory of Colorado, he studied law and was admitted to the bar in 1863. Between 1863 and 1867 he was register of the United States Land Office.
