Seit der Eröffnung des Gotthard Basistunnels im Dezember 2016 bietet die SBB Eisenbahnfreunden die Reise mit dem Gotthard Panorama Express über die Bergstrecke an. Neben dem normalen Fahrpreis darf man noch einen Zuschlag von CHF 24 (Stand: Okt. 2017) entrichten, der u. a. eine Sitzplatzreservierung enthält.
