ON THIS SPOT STOOD THE HALF-WAY TREE AT WHICH MAILMEN FROM PERTH AND FREMANTLE MET AND EXCHANGED THEIR MAILS FROM THE EARLIEST DAYS OF THE COLONY UP TO 1867.
