The woman's right hand passes between the child's legs and supports it from below, while her left hand presses the child's head to her breast.

Such figurines were made in the Early Bronze Age to represent the Mother Goddess. They are usually found in graves. Similar figurines in gold, silver, semi-precious stones and terracotta are also known.
