File:Hume House, Lovell Park Road, Leeds (2) (geograph 5682213).jpg
According to a recent item on the BBC News site ( LinkExternal link ) Hume House is likely to be demolished to be replaced by a 36 storey building for student accommodation.
Hume House was previously occupied by the government's Department for Work and Pensions. At the moment (Feb 2018) it appears to be practically empty. It stands at the corner of Lovell Park Road and Merrion Way.
Its height would make it one of the tallest buildings in Leeds, similar in height to the nearby Sky Plaza and Arena Village towers. Although those are not the tallest buildings in Leeds, they are on higher ground than the tallest (Bridgewater Place) so appear more prominent.
