From a painting by Ernest Wallcousins (en:1883-en:1976).
Published in: MacKenzie, Donald A.: Teutonic Myth and Legend, London, Gresham Publications; 1912. Paperback reprint University Press of the Pacific, 2003; ISBN 1-410-20740-4. As the image was thus published pre-1923, it is in the public domain in the U.S. As the artist died only in 1976, though, it is unlikely to be in the public domain anywhere else.

- Addendum: According to this chart the copyright of works published between 1909 and 1923 outside the US, as this one was, is a difficult subject. I don't know whether the book in question was published in accordance with US formalities. If it was it's definitely in the public domain. If it wasn't then that chart doesn't really say but it implies that since it was published in English it should be safe. Haukur 15:45, 31 August 2006 (UTC)
