For sometime the confused mob yelled outside, shaking theirfists at the Kings party in the window : men andwomen crying Come down, Green-coats, ye havecommitted murder ! Bloody butchers! Otherscried The Kin^ is shot! The exits of the house o were guarded by retainers of Gowrie—Eentoul,Bissett, and others. Mar and Lennox, from the window, explained to the mob that the King was well.
