poor guy was trying to look so dignified. don't know what that white fuzz on his beak is or how he got it there. this is a king vulture at the national zoo in washington, dc. no worries, i live nearby and will check on him in a few days to see how he's doing...
update: ok., i checked back on him - he's fine and looking pretty suave again...
additional update: afer a couple months of looking at this picture i realized it was probably one of his own feathers stuck to his beak. can't believe this didn't occur to me until recently...
