The Lands Minister (Mr. Foley) said this yesterday in a radio talk.
The North Queensland scheme would absorb more than £1,500,000 of the total allocation of £2,512,000, he said.
About £1,250,000 of the Mareeba — Dimbulah vote would be spent on the Tinaroo Falls Dam, the first major irrigation storage project in Queensland.
The dam would have a capacity equivalent to three-quarters of Sydney Harbour and would be the third largest of its type in Australia.
