Lunchtime on a very spring-like February day. Families out enjoying themselves at half-term, starlings chattering in the trees, snowdrops and crocuses in flower, cafe closed.
The Memorial Park was opened in 1921 as a tribute to the fallen of the first world war. This is the more formal end of the park where most of the trees have a dedication to someone who fell during the first or second world wars.
