The Buddha represents the union of compassion and wisdom. The naga represents the Khmer people of Cambodia.
The Buddha enthroned on the naga was often a representation of the king. But this Buddha is crowned and bejeweled. In his hands, he holds a conical mound of rice. This indicates that this is more than a representation of a king; this is a Buddha who will ensure the prosperity of the land.Licensing
