Upper Mississippi River National Wildlife Refuge

The Upper Mississippi River National Wildlife Refuge, created in 1924, was one of the first refuges intended primarily for the protection of migratory waterfowl. Lying in four states - Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa and Indiana - it protects essential habitat along the Central Flyway.
