File:Postcard- CPR Hotel Vancouver, C.1908.jpg
View of the original CPR Hotel Vancouver, with additions, on the SW corner of West Georgia and Granville Streets in Vancouver, BC, circa-1908. The corner, "simplified chateau style" structure was the original hotel, built 1886-87 (Thomas Sorby, architect). The addition to the south, along Granville Street (left), was built in 1893-94. The western addition, in an Italian Renaissance palazzo style (right), was built 1901-05 (Francis M. Rattenbury, architect).
Most of the buildings were replaced by the second CPR Hotel Vancouver structure (built 1913-16). Only Rattenbury's west-side corner structure (at Georgia and Howe Sts.) was incorporated into the new project.
