DescriptionRev. Dr. William Baton Ball (1839–1923) was a black Civil War veteran, minister, and member of the Guadalupe Baptist Association which founded Guadalupe College in Seguin, Texas. He served eight years as president of the college from 1906-1914 and thirty-seven years as Pastor of the Second Baptist Church of Seguin. This 1909 photograph is a composite of several photographic views taken of Ball during various stages of his life and career.
